Vacancy: Garment Technician

Location: Bleiswijk
Hours: 32–40 hours
Level: MBO/HBO
Industry: Fashion

Do you ensure that a beautiful design also fits perfectly?

At NUKUS, everything revolves around feminine fashion with a strong aesthetic, a great fit, and attention to quality. We are looking for a Garment Technician to join our team, who will be responsible for the technical guidance of our collections from the moment the design is finalized through to production.

You are the person who ensures that a design is ultimately translated into a well-fitting, technically correct, and high-quality garment.

You will work closely with our designers, product developers, and production partners, maintaining a critical eye for every detail: from sizing and fit to execution and quality.

What will you do?

You are responsible for measuring, fitting, and technically evaluating garments before they go into production.

Your duties include:

  • Checking and measuring samples and prototypes.
  • Organizing and supervising fittings and fit sessions.
  • Evaluating the fit across different sizes.
  • Identifying discrepancies in sizing, fit, and execution.
  • Providing clear fit comments and corrections to our production partners.
  • Verifying that samples meet the agreed-upon sizes and specifications.
  • Assessing construction, finishing, and comfort.
  • Monitoring sizing throughout various sample rounds.
  • Checking production samples before a style is officially approved for release.
  • Communicating technical adjustments to suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Following up on corrections and ensuring they are actually implemented.
  • Safeguarding the quality and consistency of our products.
  • Contributing ideas on how to improve a garment technically and in terms of fit.

You are the link between design and production

The designs are complete, but that is actually when your work begins.

You don't just look at whether a garment looks good; you ask:

Is the size correct? Does it fit well? Are the proportions right? Is the fit as intended? Is it technically sound? And can it actually be produced this way?

Therefore, you have a sharp eye for detail and aren't afraid to be critical. When something doesn't fit or isn't right, you see it and know how to translate this clearly into a concrete improvement.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with experience in fit, sizing, and garment production who enjoys working with clothing with great precision.

You are:

  • Experienced with fitting and measuring garments.
  • Well-versed in sizing and fit.
  • Technically and analytically minded.
  • Precise and critical regarding details.
  • A strong communicator, providing clear feedback.
  • Independent, but also a team player.
  • Not afraid to be critical when a product does not meet the desired quality.
  • Interested in fabrics, materials, construction, and the technical side of fashion.
  • Skilled at managing multiple styles and sample rounds simultaneously.

Experience within fashion/production is important. A background as a garment technician, pattern maker, product developer, technical product manager, or a similar role is a strong asset.

What do we offer?

You will join an enthusiastic and committed team at a growing fashion brand. You will play a vital role in safeguarding the quality and fit of our collections and will have a direct impact on the final product.

Additionally, we offer:

  • A varied and responsible position.
  • Plenty of room for your own initiative.
  • A creative work environment at NUKUS.
  • Short communication lines with design, product development, and production.
  • A competitive salary matching your experience.
  • Staff discount on NUKUS products.
  • Room for personal development.

Interested?

Are you the person who immediately notices during a fitting that a shoulder is 1 cm too far forward, a sleeve hangs incorrectly, or a waist size is off? And does it give you energy to keep going until a garment fits perfectly? Then we would love to meet you.

Send your CV and cover letter to klantenservice@nukus.nl, and who knows, we might soon welcome you as our new Garment Technician at NUKUS.
